GIVE HER CHOCOLATES FOR VALENTINE'S — REALLY, REALLY HARD CHOCOLATES
IAN SAUDE CREATES IN CHOCOLATE, CAFFÉ AND CHAMPAGNE — DIAMONDS THAT IS!

(Los Angeles, CA) November 7, 2008 — They may not be the colors one thinks of when picturing a classic diamond, but warmed-toned diamonds ranging from the softest 'sparkling' champagne to rich 'hot' chocolate diamonds, are the tones that inspire designer Ian Saudē to create his striking bejeweled rings, earrings and necklaces.

"I find the color of these stones to be more subtle, and frankly, more sensual, than ordinary white diamonds. Also, thanks to their natural warmth, they harmonize better with the luster of yellow and rose gold than the traditional white diamond," explains Saudē. "And while they are very beautiful and still have that incredible brilliance associated with diamonds – they are also more affordable."

Several pieces in Saudé's new jewelry collection feature natural colored diamonds. Etoile stacking rings are encrusted with delicate micropavé and come with three parallel rows of caffè or black diamonds on narrow 18K rose or yellow gold bands; or in diamonds that are shaded from mocca through champagne to white, and then set in 18K rose, yellow or white gold.

Meteor Demi earrings are golden half-hoops scattered with mocha pavé. The sculptural jetté Meteor Drop pendant from the same collection is studded in shaded caffè & mocca diamonds, terminating with an exquisite south sea pearl. The pendant detaches from its fine, triple-strand chain for wear with other pieces.

Dazzling , champagne and mocca pavé orbs are suspended from a graduated strand of bezel-set diamonds, were recently worn by actress Jennifer Morrison from the hit TV series 'House'. And actress Jessica Biel, long-time girlfriend of pop star Justin Timberlake, recently wore Ian Saudē 18k gold Piave II shaded chocolate diamond hoops at the 2008 Rome Film Festival.

As with colorless diamonds, champagne, cognac and chocolate diamonds come in different qualities and clarities. The 4C's of color, cut, clarity and carat weight still apply, except the intensity of color, not lack of it, plays a greater part in the valuation.

"The quality I like best about these diamonds is their ability to flatter any skin tone and how they are a wonderful contemporary-looking complement to the neutral colors commonly found in designer fashion — beige, white, taupe, black and chocolate brown. They are also fantastic when mixed with white or black diamonds. I've always been drawn to rich neutrals — they are my favorite 'go to' color palette of choice."
