FINE JEWELRY DESIGNER IAN SAUDĒ DRAWS INSPIRATION FROM NATURE & MODERN ART WITH FREE-FORM SCULTURA EARRINGS

(Los Angeles, CA) — Perhaps it's the fact that he spent 14 years in the Himalayas studying Tibetan Buddhism, but Ian Saudē's designs are decidedly nature-inspired. Drawing, as well, from the modernist visions of sculptors like Brancusi, Giacometti and Alexander Calder, Saudē's Scultura Earrings are the latest additions to his Virtuoso Collection.

Each sparkling hoop is studded with caffè-colored diamonds that conform to the unexpected contours of the piece, allowing them to catch light from every angle. The earrings are "alive" in the sense that their shape seems to change and move when seen from different viewpoints. "I wanted to create a pair of earrings that worked in four dimensions," Saudē explains. My intention was not only to attract the "eye" of the viewer with something beautiful or dazzling, but also to make them conscious of their own subjective act of looking — of their position in space and time — by creating a shape that posed a kind of 'visual riddle'."

As an option, exotic dark gray-green Tahitian Pearl dangles have been designed to compliment Scultura earrings and can be purchased separately. Additional dangles will be added to the collection, each presenting an opportunity to create a Ônew earring' that can transform depending on the occasion.

Scultura is part of Saudē's Virtuoso Collection which focuses on the tradition of fine artisan jewelry that is made to stand the test of time. Ian Saudē jewelry is produced under the supervision of the designer along with Italian and French master jewelers according to the exacting standards of the finest European jewelry ateliers.
